Healthy Eating – The Speakman Way

Our Son Hunter is learning all about healthy eating at school this week…it’s finally reached the school syllabus, thankfully! Anyway, we thought this would be a great opportunity for us to share our 10 Point Energy Plan with you.

YES, we do eat real food too! But there are things that we know will make our cells stay healthy and things we know that will age us and make us feel drained. The following 10 points contain a summary of what we have learned over many years. Eva Speakman with Chef Gordon RamsayRead them and have a think.

If you only follow one or two recommendations we GUARANTEE you will feel better than you do today. At the very least start by drinking more water. Just do it! It will give you an instant pick-me-up, just like a wilting plant that is revived by rain after a drought. Honestly, you will wonder why you thought you could live like a camel before!

Our 10-Point Energy Plan:

  1. We alkalize to energize!!! To flush out the corroding acids we drink lots of water, nettle or dandelion tea and our SwampJoose formula,
  2. We eat lots of living food (not stuff that’s dead or has been incinerated in the oven or deep fat fryer). This means raw or fresh steamed veggies such as broccoli, celery, squash, spinach, red peppers and cucumber. To me shopping for vegetables, with the wonderful choice that’s available, is almost better than buying shoes!
  3. We take Milk thistle supplement to support our liver, which is our ‘well-being warrior.’
  4. Avocado is ‘God’s butter.’ We use it like butter on toast, in mash or in a jacket potato for a creamy and healthy alternative. (For amazing garlic toast rub a garlic clove over a piece of hot toast, ‘butter’ with avocado and sprinkle with oregano…YUM!)
  5. We avoid coffee and alcohol like the plague,
  6. We have cut out bread and pasta but occasionally eat spelt or wheat-free pasta,
  7. Beans and brown rice are our main source of carbs,
  8. We never eat pork or animal fats,
  9. We avoid full fat milk, cheese and other dairy products,
  10. We cheat once a week. (We like to indulge in French fries, buttered toast, chocolate biscuits and pink champagne!) If you eat healthily all the time then your metabolism slows down. A cheat day makes your body think, “Ok, I have to go to work now,” and it revs up trying to process all the junk food you have eaten which keeps the metabolism running at a good pace.

Healthy Food the Speakman PlanMaking sure we alkalize to energize in conjunction with eating the correct foods for our blood group makes us feel FANTASTIC!!!
